Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 50 Website
Greetings Scouts, returning Leaders and Parents, and Welcome to a New Year of Scouting with Pack 50!
My name is Philip Gier and I will be the new Cubmaster this year taking the place of last years Cub Master, Mr. James Sessions. I would like to start by thanking Mr. James for all the time he volunteered with the scouts and the work that he completed tirelessly to make everyone's scouting experience a great one. I look forward to continuing his efforts and working with Mr. James as he continues his scouting experience as a parent and volunteer to this great pack. With that said, I am extremely proud to become your new leader and very much look forward to the fun experiences we will share together this upcoming year.
A short backstory about me. Last year I was the Den Leader for the Tigers as my son, Oliver, was a Tiger Cub. We really enjoyed the pack and the many events we attended. Along with the trips and the fun times we had, we were amazed by the abundance of parent volunteers that came together to accomplish such successful outings. My hat certainly goes off to those that continuously volunteer for the betterment of this scouting program. During our short time together we've had great parental leadership with all of our kids in our Tiger Den and I look forward to working with them all again this year. My personal scouting history goes back many years to when I was a young Cub Scout just south of Buffalo N.Y., progressing through to Boy Scouts where I became a member of the local Explorer Post. I had many great experiences scouting up north but my most memorable trip was an eleven day excursion in the back woods of Algonquin, Canada where I collected my 50 miler canoeing award along with the nerve racking experience of close encounters with both large bears and large moose.
I would like to thank you all for your continued participation in scouting and I cannot wait to get started with you in this new role as Cubmaster. If anyone has any questions, comments, or concerns, always feel free to contact me via phone, text or email. As always, we are looking for volunteers to fill other roles in our pack committee and in den leadership.
Thank you all again and I look forward to our year in scouting!!
